The hazard of reality shows

The other day their was a lot of hype created by the media of a news item , where a little (16yrs.) girl had fallen into coma after disqualification in a reality show. The whole genre blamed the judges without giving a thought to the general scenario leading upto or from the reality shows.
We should not forget that its the parents who push their children too far in realising a dream which they could not fulfil.
Can we forget an incident not very long back, when a father from bengal killed his son ( another small kid) in a fit of rage when he failed to win a tennis or badminton match of the state level. Which judge did we blame that time?
We are progressing towards a society where our soft senses do not keep much value in the society. Its the limelight that we are craving for .In our attempt to attain instant stardom, we are pushing our children towards a society which cares not for the sentiments but materialistic gains. If the electronic media is giving your children a platform to show your platform make use of it in a positive way, don't try to grab it by any means.
It's the duty of the parents to counsel their kids in such a way that they take it in a light way.If you win well and good if you loose doesn't matter.
Instead we've seen parents picking up a fight with the organisers of these shows once their prodigy is eliminated. what examples are we setting in front of our kids? They are made to think that if you cannot win the right way go for the wrong way of fighting your way in.
Where have all the restraint and tolerance gone?Where is the sportsmanship?Teach them to take defeat gracefully. They have their whole life before them. how far will you go fighting for your child,in each of his failures.?
Instead teach him to participate in every venture of his liking with an attitude of a noble sportsman, not a cunning contriver.
So the lesson is "the world will provide many opportunities, make hay, try your best ,if you win feel for the loosers and if you loose ,exit gracefully."
