The other day their was a lot of hype created by the media of a news item , where a little (16yrs.) girl had fallen into coma after disqualification in a reality show. The whole genre blamed the judges without giving a thought to the general scenario leading upto or from the reality shows.
We should not forget that its the parents who push their children too far in realising a dream which they could not fulfil.
Can we forget an incident not very long back, when a father from bengal killed his son ( another small kid) in a fit of rage when he failed to win a tennis or badminton match of the state level. Which judge did we blame that time?
We are progressing towards a society where our soft senses do not keep much value in the society. Its the limelight that we are craving for .In our attempt to attain instant stardom, we are pushing our children towards a society which cares not for the sentiments but materialistic gains. If the electronic media is giving your children a platform to show your platform make use of it in a positive way, don't try to grab it by any means.
It's the duty of the parents to counsel their kids in such a way that they take it in a light way.If you win well and good if you loose doesn't matter.
Instead we've seen parents picking up a fight with the organisers of these shows once their prodigy is eliminated. what examples are we setting in front of our kids? They are made to think that if you cannot win the right way go for the wrong way of fighting your way in.
Where have all the restraint and tolerance gone?Where is the sportsmanship?Teach them to take defeat gracefully. They have their whole life before them. how far will you go fighting for your child,in each of his failures.?
Instead teach him to participate in every venture of his liking with an attitude of a noble sportsman, not a cunning contriver.
So the lesson is "the world will provide many opportunities, make hay, try your best ,if you win feel for the loosers and if you loose ,exit gracefully."

राज का Marathiprem

Gujjars protest and students weep
Gujjar protests and university exams
It has becom a norm in India to show your protest by damaging government property. The protesters incite the police to resort to firing to quell the crowd, and then on the negotiating table they bargain for compensation for the injured or the deceased. If the ruling government is strict with them the opposition jumps in the fray trying to get some political mileage, by inciting the protesters. The Junta does not see through their intentions and unnecessarily lays down its life.Who is going to compensate for the students who could not appear in their final year exams and thus have lost on the other students who finished their exams on time and got their jobs.who will pay for the mental torture of those students who are waiting unendingly for the exams to be announced, so they can appear and go home in relief. Will Mr. Kirori Mal Bainsla compensate them or the Rajasthan govt.?Even if the reservation quota is given to them , how is it going to benefit the general category students who have undergone the trauma of uncertainty in their future? It is not only this year , last year too exactly when the university exams were about to start, the same reservation protest started to utter disgust of regular students. Can we not change this way of protest? Can we not segregate the education system under essential services ,like the health services, and see to it that itr is not affected by such pritests? All the politicians take the excuse of uplifting the state when they resort to such senseless protests. Do they ever realise that a state with a fractured education system can never progress . It will only harbour uneducated selfish politicians while all the brains will drift away to states who have education systems untouched by political protests. Why can't all our respected makers of country's laws(politicians) sit down together ,forgetting their selfish lust for power, and think of how India can be made to look at par with our international counterparts? Why do politicians in their ultimate in psycophancy promulgate lawsw( reservation)hich does no good to the general public but only raises their own psycophancy meter?I sometimes wish that democracy for once would function in its true sense and we would proudly say we are better than USA?When some politicians resort to some senseless misuse of public property( erecting self statues, celebrating lavish birthdays, installing unnecessary statues etc,) I sometimes wonder can't the highest office in the country ,the president , intervene and make them see sense?Iwish and I wish and I wish.Have the politicians ever wondered why we do not have any recent great men to erect a statue of, why only Gandhiji, sardar ballabh bhai, Nehru etc.?They have left us years ago. Why can't we become one Vivekanand,Gandhiji orBhagat singh?

Child (Arushi's) Help Line
Child(Arushi’s) help line
I’ve been following “Arushi double murder “story in the papers since it appeared in the newspapers first. It really drives a chill down my spine to think that a child can be so vulnerable in his/her home. First it angers me to think that the Noida police messed up the whole investigation by not looking at the in a professional way, secondly, even though CBI was entrusted the case it is taking them so long to unfold the mystery. I ask one simple question. Had the case been of a high and mighty’s daughter, would the fate been the same? The very fact that the CBI is turning the whole locality inside out in search of the murder weapon, after so many days is very ridiculous to me. Do you think a cold blooded murderer (as the culprit appears to be) would leave his weapon behind at a natural place for the police to come and recover it? Why are they not looking at the odd places, eg? It might have been immersed in the Ganges along with arushi’s ashes, when the parents left in a hurry the very day for her last rights. That is just one probability.
One question that keeps disturbing me off and on, is, Even if the parents are not directly involved, are they not liable for punishment for not providing a safe haven for their child. We wouldn’t hold them responsible had Arushi met her end somewhere outside her house, but while sleeping inside her own house, someone coolly comes, murders her in a most ruthless way and quietly walks out, and the parents are sleeping in their air-conditioned bedroom, without even getting the slightest hint of it, is simply incomprehensible.
After this incident, I’m ashamed to say I feel very paranoid letting my teenaged daughter sleep alone in her bedroom. I walk down several times to her bedroom at night just to see she is sleeping peacefully. You may laugh at my condition but this is how these strange incidents impact different minds. Had the case been solved meticulously, and the culprits given deterrent punishments, my treatment of my daughter would have been different.
But the fact is till the case is solved many along with me would keep on getting sleepless nights.
Another point which bothers me after this incident is, why don’t we have a child helpline number in India? I always assume that had there been such a number may be the parents could not save Arushi but the police could have saved her. In India we have animal protection right, protection of endangered species rights, prevention of cruelty to animal’s right etc., but do we have so many protection rights for our children in this bad bad world? Do we ever think that children are gradually becoming an endangered species? The gen next doesn’t believe in having children (you can see the no. of dinks around) and those who have them do not have enough protection rights for them. Esp. after Nithari killings and many such incidents ,and with no speedy trials, we are forced to think that we are gradually becoming very careless towards our children. A society which does not develop soft skills for handling children will in the long run turn out to be a world full of heartless but rich people, and will perish ,as we have seen in history of roman empires moghuls etc .
When someone from states once told me that in America a child is made aware of his rights the very day he attends school,( his teachers teach him to dial 911 in case of any threat) I had sneered at the idea. But today I feel that, that is one the most sensible self defence right America has given its children. It may be misused, but then at least we will not have Arushis being sacrificed at the alter of modernization.
