The birth of militancy

Today I came across a news item about the murder convict Manu Sharma out on parole, but found enjoying in a night club.
The other news which has interested me since last few days is the arrest and interogation of erstwhile CM of Jharkhand Madhu Koda on his disproportionate assets case.I was aghast at the news of the amount of money he has embezzled.
Then another news item which I found indirectly has a bearing on the previous two news items, is the drastic efforts taken up by our esteemed home minister in trying to bring militancy under control.
Don't you think all the three news items are inter related? If the law and justice becomes a play thing in the hands of the rich and the mighty, what hope is there for the common man?
Would my son be set free to cool his iinsatiable hunger for night life,if he was a murder convict? No.Rather for him the delivery of justice will be so fast that he wont live to see any mercy appeal. As had happened with a watchman in bengal who had been accused of raping and murdering a minor of that building.
Would I be allowed to stack away my ill gotten black money, and to reach the opposition in the assembly, before being apprehended. No , 'cause I don't have the power nor the price to buy justice.
What message are we sending to the common man?
Are all the developments of a hitech India only required in the metros, or big cities?Don't we living in small towns require good concrete roads, superfast trains, airports ,telecommunication, good well equipped hospitals, good schools.quick delivery of justice ,proper policing etc?
Why are there honour killings in small towns, why are women still being annihilated in the garb of witchcraft?
Are we not paying taxes?
You will be surprised to hear that in places that I have worked, my relatives were reluctant to come 'cause of the absence of the above. I had to stay throught in small towns 'cause limestone is available in small places, where cement factories are set up.
I am not being selfish. Its not because I have suffered ,but I'm just giving an example to prove my point. If you are deprived of your right, some may recoil and bear it with a heavy heart ,but there are some who have seen the suffering, and these are the people who rise up in arms. I'm not justifying militancy, but I 'm trying to say that if the government delivers impartially and in all directions there will not be a hurry in an aftermath of maoist attack to rehabilitate the states tribals or its small town dwellers.
Am I right?

Me and my loneliness

Today I'm feeling a bit better,'cause my husband is returning from his seminar at Delhi, moreover, I had some very hearty talks with some of my old friends from previous factory. We exchanged some tips on our family ,some hilarious anecdotes were exchanged and that was enough to lift my mood.Lets see how long this sustains me.
I now realise how lonely my mother must be feeling when we were all engrossed in our studies and jobs.It had never occur ed to me at that time that we should sometimes sit down and exchange some thoughts with her. Now she is no longer with us ,but I miss her the most now.Wish god would give me a chance to rectify my mistake, but that's asking for the impossible.Whenever we six brothers and sisters meet we never fail to recount the sacrifices made by our mom, the difficult times she went through to sustain the family, without a whimper of complaint. But all is of no use when she is no longer with us.
Why were we not counselled on how to care for the feelings of the older people. It never occurred to me so long I was busy pursuing my career, that there is someone waiting anxiously at home for our news. Now when I have everything life can give you , I don't have the people with whom I would have loved to share these comfort.
As we are progressing towards a so called highly developed society, we are becoming more and more self centered. The children are so engrossed in their pursuit of excellence, that they are unknowingly loosing the touch of soft skills. There is only one reply when you contact them ,"I'm busy now, I'll call you later."That later may never come, as it never came for me.I still regret ,not being with my parents or in laws when they breathed their last.I only pray to god to give them a happier and more full life in their next incarnation.

The lonely mother/wife

Will someone provide me some assistance as to how to keep myself from going mad.

The widening rift.

This is my personal feeling which i'm trying to write down here as I'm unable to talk it out with any one.Iresigned from my job about two years ago, 'cause the presence of my husband in the same company was creating many difficult situations for me. e.g. He was very highly placed, everyone or two years he was transferred, without me being transferred.Every time I had to face very unpleasant scenes when I went to request my transfer. 'cause after he went I would have to shift to a quarter according to my designation. That would turn out to be very humiliating. It was not that I couldn't stay in a smaller quarter, it was the question of starting all over again in the same place. That and other problems compelled me to resign the day he was made the head of the unit. Everything was going smooth. For the first time after marraige I was having a life of my own, going out with friends, shopping ,travelling, visiting children whenever they needed me etc. Then one fine morning my husband left his 27years of his association with his old firm and joined a new concern in south india.Itried my best to adjust to all the different working conditions, but instead of appreciating my efforts my husband had negative comments for me. I happen to be a social person ,making friends and helping people, interacting with any grade of society so long as some useful activity can be achieved. But at this new place the whole scenario is in stark contrast to what was in other north indian plants .The biggest constraint is the language. With no one to talk to ,I gradually becoming depressive. My phone which used to be post paid has been changed to pre paid.So each time I make a call to a friend I'm immediately reminded of the amount of money ihave spent on that talk. So I've stopped calling my friendas.I tried taking up a course but nothing is nearby. You have to travel 30 kms everyday to a shabby class all crammed up to learn computers.Ileft that too.The only consolation is my daughters arrival who is awaiting her posting in Nov.She is a good company but how much can she provide me company. She has her own friend and youthfull activities to look to.My son who is posted to metro, is very uncommunicative, under the pretext of being busy. He doesn't even have time to call me even once a fortnight.I had gone to his new establishment with the expectation that he will be happy with us ( me and my daughter), but it turned out to be very heartrending as he kept on snapping at me for everything I did, finally when I couldn't take the insult anymore , we returned by the earliest flight available.I keep on thinking about him ' cause try as much you cannot severe all ties with your children. There are months when I don't hear from him, unreplied e-mails ,calls not picked up.Then you come to know that he is not well. What will your plight be. When you ring up to advise him to consult a physician, he snaps back with the dialogue" that is the reason I don't tell you anything you start nagging ,and start spreading the news to everyone." Tell me how is a mother going to react to such a situation? If I tell my worries to my husband, he blames me for being very incompetent in managing my children. He won't talk but send me a mail about management tips that he has acquired during his profession.Do you think children can be managed on office management fundas? There's no dialogue between the father and children. He just comes home with his mobile stuck to his ears, has his daily quota of exercise drinks and food and off to bed. I've started feeling I'm living in a guest house with no bonding between family members.Ithink these are the reasons why the children are drifting apart, there's lessening of soft feelings towards humans, every body lives in a close knit world of their own. I feel a misfit in this materialistic world. My only happiness is a close knit family get together often and nothing more. Am I wrong in expecting these?
